Subscription Health Audit
Check whether your subscription lifecycle — trial to active to churned — is tracked cleanly at every stage.
About this audit
A subscription moves through several distinct stages — trial, active, past due, paused, cancelled — and how cleanly those stages are tracked determines how well you can see problems coming before they become churn.
This audit checks whether those stages are tracked as genuinely distinct states, whether at-risk subscriptions are visible as a group, and whether reactivations are properly separated from new customer growth.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does keeping lifecycle stages distinct matter?
If Trial, Active, Past Due, Paused, and Cancelled overlap or aren't clearly separated in your data, you can't build reliable reporting or alerts around any single stage — you end up debugging data quality instead of acting on the signal.
What's the difference between paused and cancelled?
A paused subscription is a customer intentionally taking a break, expected to resume. A cancelled subscription has ended. Treating them the same either overstates active MRR (if paused counts as active) or overstates churn (if paused counts as cancelled).
